In a Yukon winter, we settle down to our "nests" and wait for the drama of the season to begin. For short periods of time at -35 Degrees Celsius, the traffic slows down and animals hole-up. Then, bright and sunny days provide exciting opportunities for ice fishing on Kathleen Lake or snowshoeing on Brent's Trail.
When temperatures warm up to -10, we haul out our cross-country skis or jump on the snow machines. We head out to enjoy cross-country skiing and sledding along the gentle valleys, white mountain faces, and demanding cols--an adventurer's paradise of thrills and spills!
The nights are long and dark until the spectacular Northern Lights crackle across the star-studded sky--a wide-screen moment you will never forget.
